Our washers are machined from billet material and fully hardened to the same strength as the stud. There is one final piece which is to make one side as slick as possible and the other grip. For the low friction side, we utilize our finish which prevents rust and resists scratches. On the other side, we use our advanced friction-enhancing process to put micro-divets in the washer at the molecular level. This creates a surface that has a matt grey finish but produces an incredible grip.
The grip side goes down on the washers while the low friction side goes up on the nut. This makes the nut and the washer slide against each other while torquing. On the other side, the face of the washer grips hard onto the head giving you the most accurate torque and preventing damage to the head mating surface.
